Welcome to the Family

These lyrics are basically about what it says family. Little Big Town is from the south and most southern families are very closely knit, then again I know a lot of families that are close and aren't from the south. Welcome to the Family is about this families sister who found another guy, and this brother is warning him that if he ever hurts her then he will regret it. I relate to this song a lot because when I brought my boyfriend to first meet my dad and my family they gave him a hard time about everything. My family is very overprotective of me and my sister so they try to warn every guy we bring home. This song is also more of an upbeat song rather than slow so that makes me like it even more because I run to upbeat songs. My personality has always been one that revolves around my family to make sure that everyone in my family is happy, which I know it isn't possible but I like to make sure. Welcome to the Family is extremely relateable to me in the sense that my family is exactly the way this song goes. Family is the real meaning of this basically explaing that their sister means the world to them, and they don't like to see her hurt.

Little Big Town

Little Big Town influenced many people in our generation. In many of Little Big Town's lyrics they talk about love and family many of the things that young people cherish. Love is a big issue with our generation because it seems like that is what many people search for. Little Big Town has a good image and a good example for many young adults they only talk about positive issues, and when women go to sing they sing about independence and not depending on men. Overall, this group has a big influence on our generation even though they aren't many people who listen to country, but the ones who are faithful country listeners are influnced by this harmonizing group. Especially by their vocals and their beliefs that many can relate to.

The affect of Elvis

Watching that documentary on Elvis made me realize that he had a huge affect on the world. Mostly he affect women because he basically told them that it was ok to move their bodies a certain. Elvis made women crazy about him, and it wasn't just his good looks that attracted women to him. He made the women comfortable in their own bodies and with their sexuality. Back in those days women weren't supposed to be crazy and moving their bodies a certain they were supposed to be calm and prepare for raising children. Elvis made a huge generation gap because the elders were opposed to Elvis' soulful music and the way he rebelled against authority. He not only made in difference in many teenage girls, but also made a difference in music. Elvis was the first man to sing soulful blues which some songs were written by black artists. This was a big deal because this was when the world was segragated by color. All Elvis ever heard was the music that the artists composed. It seemed like to him nothing else matter but the music.
